APC Chairman Yilwatda Condoles Kanam Emirate Over Deadly Attack on Security Team

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed condolences to the Kanam Emirate in Plateau State following a deadly ambush on a joint security patrol in the area. The attack, which occurred in the Garga axis, including Wanka, Kyaram, and Gyambau communities, reportedly claimed the lives of more than 20 security personnel and local vigilantes, according to local sources.

During a visit to the Emir of Kanam, Muhammad Muazu Muhammad, Yilwatda sympathised with affected families and residents, calling for unity and efforts to restore peace.“ My thoughts are with the affected families, and I stand in solidarity with the entire emirate,” he said.

The APC chairman also facilitated the distribution of relief materials to vulnerable households in the affected communities, describing the intervention as support to ease immediate hardship.As part of his visit, Yilwatda attended the Hawan Daushe cultural celebration in Dengi, held as part of Eid-el-Fitr festivities, where he joined traditional leaders and residents.

He commended the resilience of the community and urged stakeholders to strengthen peacebuilding efforts and security measures. Yilwatda also congratulated residents on the completion of Ramadan and the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, praying for peace and stability in the area.
