The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated newly elected ward and local government executives in Riyom Local Government Area, urging members to prioritise unity and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The ceremony, held at the council secretariat in Plateau State, brought together party leaders, stakeholders and supporters. Officials described the congresses that produced the executives as peaceful and consensus-driven.
Riyom Council Chairman, Bature Sati Shuwa, said the new leadership should see its emergence as a mandate to promote unity, progress and development in the area. He commended the conduct of the congresses, noting they reflected inclusiveness within the party.
Speaking on behalf of the executives, APC Local Government Chairman, Gideon Ntoy, pledged to justify the confidence placed in them. He said the leadership would work with all stakeholders and emphasised that all members—regardless of when they joined—should be treated equally.According to a statement from the Riyom council’s information unit, other officials, including Timothy Dantong and Moses Dachung Dadon, congratulated the executives and called for continued unity.The oath of office was administered by Lekshak Betsy Ayuba.
