Justice of the Federal High Court sitting in Independence Layout, , has convicted and sentenced one , also known as “Easy-money,” to one year imprisonment for abusing Naira notes during his birthday celebration.
According to a statement issued by the Head of Media and Publicity of the (EFCC), , Ikechukwu was arraigned by the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the commission on March 26, 2026, on a one-count charge bordering on the mutilation of Naira notes amounting to N81,700.
The charge stated that on February 22, 2026, at Embassy Hotel in Enugu Ezike, Enugu State, the defendant danced on and stepped on N81,700 in Naira notes issued by the during his birthday celebration, an act that violates Section 21(1) of the CBN Act, 2007.
He pleaded guilty to the charge.
Following his plea, Justice Giwa-Ogunbanjo sentenced him to one year imprisonment, effective from the date of his arraignment, with an option of a N300,000 fine. The court also ordered the forfeiture of the N81,700 recovered from him to the Federal Government through the EFCC.
The 24-year-old palm kernel dealer was arrested on February 28, 2026, at his residence near the Timber Market in Enugu Ezike, following intelligence linked to a viral social media video showing him spraying and trampling on Naira notes in a hotel room during his birthday celebration.
