Nigeria’s representatives at the upcoming Basketball Africa League (BAL) Championship, Maktown Flyers, have received a morale boost ahead of the tournament in Morocco.
Basketball promoter Igoche Mark, during a visit to the team’s training camp in Abuja, urged the players to raise their performance and represent the country strongly on the continental stage. He encouraged the team to demonstrate resilience and determination throughout the competition.
Mark also pledged continued support for the squad, assuring them of efforts to meet their welfare needs as they prepare for the championship. He added that he plans to attend the tournament in Morocco to support the team.
Team captain Bright Akuiete appreciated the gesture and said the players are committed to delivering a strong performance.The Maktown Flyers, coached by Abdur Rahman Muhammad, qualified for the BAL Championship after winning the 2025 Nigeria Basketball League title, defeating Rivers Hoopers in the final.The team is expected to compete against top clubs from across Africa at the tournament, with stakeholders expressing optimism about their chances.
