Russia has replied to Iran’s admission that its military actually shot down the international Kiev-bound Ukrainian airliner Wednesday.
Iran confirmed on Saturday that the plane was accidentally shot down.
Before that, however, Russian lawmakers had warned the US and other nations to stop making “groundless” statements about how the plane crashed.
“If decryption of the black boxes and the work of the investigation do not prove that the Iranian army did this intentionally, and there are no logical reasons for this, the incident must be closed.
“Hoping that lessons will be learned and action taken by all parties.” The chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Russian parliament Konstantin Kosachev told Interfax in response to the Iranian admission on Saturday.
