Nasarawa State government, has urged contractors handling the construction of the Mega Bus Terminal in Karu to ensure quality job and complete the project within specified time.

The Commissioner for works, Housing and Transport, Mr Philip Dada, stated this on Monday while on an inspection visit to the site of the project in Mararaba, Karu Local Government Area.

Dada said that if contractors adhered strictly to project specification, it would not only ensure quality works, but would also boost the socio-economic development of the state.

According to him, contractors handling different projects should ensure that they did quality work and complete their job within 12 months specified for completion.

The commissioner said the visit was aimed at assessing the quality and  level of work a done so far and make inputs where necessary in line with the contract specifications.

Dada expressed satisfaction with the level of work already done by the contractors handling different projects and called on them to complete the work within the 12 months given to them.

“The Karu bus terminal if completed would reduce the traffic gridlock around the Mararaba axis along the Keffi-Abuja road.

“The bus terminal will also ensure the consolidation of the various motor parks in the area in one location, thereby boosting the socioeconomic activities of the people of the area and the state at large,” he said.

Dada said that all the necessary logistics have been provided to the contractors by the government, hence the need for them to justify the gesture by ensuring that quality works were done.

He charged all the contractors to work in harmony by cooperating with each other to enable them complete the job as expected.

On his part, the Chief Consultant of the Project, Engr Idris Mohammed of the Canonic Associates promised to ensure that quality works were done by contractors handling the jobs.
