Katsina state records first COVID-19 death

Katsina State has recorded a first case of Covid-19 fatality. The victim is a medical Doctor and resident if Daura area of the state who returned from Lagos State last week.
In a press briefing in Katsina State, Tuesday, , the Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari said the deceased, Dr. Aliyu Yakubu, died of the virus at the Airforce Reference Hospital in Daura.
The governor noted that Dr. Yakubu had previously been diagnosed with hypatitis and hypertension, but samples from the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, indicated that he died of Covid-19.
The governor explained that the state’s medical response team is combing the neighborhood of the deceased of Coronavirus patient to identify and quarantine those Dr. Yakubu had interacted with after his return from Lagos.

He disclosed that an isolation centres have been prepared to quarantine as many people as had come in contact with the deceased.
