Lockdown: Adamawa Govt. distributes 1,800 bags of rice

The Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency ( ADSEMA), says it has distributed 1, 800 bags of assorted rice to the less privileged to cushion the effects of COVID-19 lockdown in the state.
Dr Muhammed Sulaiman, Executive Secretary of the Agency, made the disclosure during the distribution of the food items on Tuesday in Yola.
Sulaiman said that the rice was donated to the state government by the Federal Government through the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
“The Federal Government donated  1, 800 bags of rice to the state government through the NCS.
“The rice is distributed to 226 wards in the 21 local government areas of the state, ” Sulaiman said.
He said that the state committee on palliative distribution has adopted proactive measures to ensure that the intervention reached the targeted population.
