DAMBAZAU, CHIEF OF AIR STAFF ON SECURITY ASSESSMENT VISIT TO ZAMFARA .

Minister of interior General Abdurrahaman Dambazau (rtd) has said the incessant killings in Zamfara is humanly unacceptable, as the security issue in Zamfara affects the security of the whole nation.

Dambazau Said he was in Zamfara to primarily deliver the presidential massage bordering on security situation in the state and also take an assessment of the security challenge on ground.

He said the situation in the state is so disturbing that Federal government has to vigorously wade in to ensure that the killings are brought to an end.

The minister warns that hence forth, the bandits will no longer have it easy to survive and continue with the heinous crimes.

Dambazau disclosed that the presidential attention is seriously focussed on Zamfara state and that all concerted efforts must be mobilised to make sure that the situation is brought to a final end.

Similarly, the chief of air staff Air Vice Marshal Saddiq Baba Abubakar who was also in the state on assessment mission, gave the assurance that banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality will soon stop.

Marshal Saddiq disclosed that the purpose of the visit is to examine and initiate reinforced strategy of dealing ruthlessly with the issue of banditry by giving more operational support to the ground army so that the challenge will finally be wiped out.

“The Nation is very much worried about the happening in Zamfara state”, he said, a situation that calls for a more aggressive approach to crush the menace.

He said from Zamfara, he is proceeding to Sokoto for the establishment of a “quick response Air Force unit” to team up with the ground military to sweep out banditry not only from the two states but from the entire North-West.

The acting governor Hon Sunusi Garba Rikiji who is the speaker of the state legislature, stressed that already the state government has been doing its best in the fight against the worrying situation.

He said the state government is always ready to cooperate with any organ that will assist in bringing an end to the threatening security challenge.
