Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom would on Monday swear into office eight new members of the State Executive Council, SEC as Commissioners and Special Advisers.
The eight new SEC members acvording to a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem and made available to newsmen in Uyo last weekend include two women.
According to the statement, the event would be restrcted to a few people including the new appointees with their spouses due to the ban on social gathering.
“All serving and newly appointed Commissioners are expected to be in attendance. Newly appointed Commissioners are expected to attend with their spouses and one other member of their families only.
“In order to ensure social distancing, in compliance with AKSG/NCDC/WHO COVID-19 guidelines and protocols, attendance in this event is strictly by invitation. All invitees must wear face masks.” It stated.
It would be recalled that the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly recently cleared all nominees appointed by the Governor.
They include immediate past Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Barr In Ememobong and the immediate Vice Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University, Prof. Eno Ibanga.
Others include immediate past State Chairman of Associaton of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, Mr Frank Archibong, Dean, College of Medical Sciences, University of Uyo, Dr Vincent Umoh, Dr (Ms) Ini Adiakpan, Mrs Enobong Mbobo, Mr Amanam Nkanga and Dr. Imo Moffat.
