A prominent Women Non Governmental Organisation, Advocacy For the Empowerment of Nigerian Women Initiative, Saturday, conferred a ” Selfless Service to Humanity/ Patronship Award,” on the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
Bashir Rabe Mani further revealed that the epoch-making ceremony took place at the residence of Senator Wamakko, who also represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, at his Gawon Nama residence, Sahabi Dange road , Sokoto .
In a citation, the NGO said that, the award was conferred on Senator Wamakko sequel to his sterling contributions to women, youths and humanity , as well as his astute participation in good hovernace .
The National President of the Organisation, Hajiya Hussaina Adamu said:” We are today extremely happy at the primus of our understanding that, we are rightly before a man of excellence.
” He has given so much to the empowerment of women In our dear country, an indisputable Nigerian Flag Waver and quintessence of good leadership, whose didactive personality is a pedestal upon which the vision of our land can be realized.”
She further averred that , the group was not ignorant of the unblemished records and antecedents of Senator Wamakko, adding that, he has been friendly .
According to Hajiya Hussaina, ” your unadulterated values of humility, hard work , integrity and patriotism, have our sources of motivation , emulation and moral upbringing .
” As we ably understand that , we must call on people of your kind, for more development to come to our nation .”
The president also assured the former Governor of Sokoto State that, they were strongly in support of him and his activities , while pledging to always stand by him.
She maintained that, Senator Wamakko remains one of the remaining Fathers who had found satisfaction in human and women development,.
She added:” You have distinguished yourself from others by setting a pace for excellence . Your firmness and commitment in solving our societal problems are justified by your activities , as well as achievements.
” We want you to keep the ball rolling as our father , role model and mentor of our generation and future generation .Your goodwill to the Nigerian Women and humanity should continue .”
Speaking shortly after the conferment of the prestigious award , Senator Wamakko said that , the award was a call for more dedication, determination and commitment to work in the interest of mankind , especially women and children .
He described women and children as some of the most invaluable assets any nation can boast of .
Senator Wamakko further said that, the organisation was a , ” very powerful, very committed and very dedicated NGO .
” It is determined to help establish support initiative towards women and children across Nigeria and by extension, globally .
” I must therefore thank the NGO for the unparalleled honour which I will continue to cherish .”
