Nigerian basketball promoter Igoche Mark has congratulated Maktown Flyers on their 76–68 victory over JCA Kings in their opening game of the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL) Sahara Conference, describing the result as a significant milestone. In a statement issued in Abuja, Mark praised the team’s discipline and coordination, noting that their performance reflected strong preparation and teamwork.
He highlighted key contributions from Jawad Adekoya, who scored 20 points, alongside Tyrell Corbin, Hassan Drame, and Ogbodeje Abah, who each added 13 points. According to him, the balanced scoring underlines the importance of collective effort in competitive basketball.
Mark also referenced the Flyers’ early shooting display, where most of their opening points came from long-range efforts, describing it as a strong start to the game. “This result shows the team’s readiness and determination at the continental level,” he said
.He, however, urged the team to remain focused as the competition progresses, stressing the importance of consistency and discipline. “The opening win is encouraging, but sustained performance will be key in the remaining games,” he added.
