The Federal University Gusau (FUGUS) has appointed a new Registrar, Malam Yakubu Audu Anivbassa.
He attained the first position in an interview conducted for a number of applicants by the University’s Governing Council last December
A release signed by University’s Information Officer Mallam Umar Usman says the appointment of Mallam Yakubu Audu Anivbassa was approved by the Council in the same month.
A graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, the new registrar obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration and later Masters in Public Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2002 and 2009 respectively.
Malam Anivbassa is an indigene of Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, Nigeria.
Until his appointment, he was a Deputy Registrar in the Institute of Development Research and Training, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
He held various positions through his 24 years service with Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria beginning as Administrative Officer, Assistant Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar, Principal Assistant Registrar and Deputy Registrar in 2011.
The appointment of the new Registrar is for a single term of five (5) years which may be extended for another one (1) year and no more as contained in his letter of appointment.
