By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.
Some Islamic Scholars in Kano state has blasted the recent appeal by Yahaya Aminu Sheriff, a singer who insulted the holy prophet during one of his singing, where they accused some third parties of playing with what God has ordered on whoever insulted the holy prophet.
In a series of interviews conducted by Daybreak in Kano, all the Islamic scholars  had a discussion with our correspondent disclosed that the death sentence announced earlier by the shari’a court in Kano should be the final stage about the blasphemy due to serve a lesson to other Muslims intending to insult the holy prophet.
Sheikh Usman Mohammed, chief Imam of one of the Juma’at mosque from Dawakin Tofa local government area said that ” In an Islamic law, any Muslim found insulting the holy prophet must be executed because killing him is the only alternative that shari’ah directed, therefore in blasphemy any attempt to cover up is a great offence in accordance with Islamic law “. He stated.
Similarly, Ustaz Ahmed Ibn Usman told Daybreak news that nobody is allowed to depend a blasphemy according to Islamic law and whoever insulted the holy prophet must be executed as the final stage of the punishment in the universe, therefore it is an offence to any Muslim to depend anybody who committed the blasphemy provided that all are Muslims.
It could be recalled that a singer in Kano insulted the holy prophet in his song where he was apprehended and taken to Kano shari’ah court and sentenced to execution by hanging as his punishment according to Islamic law, but given thirty days to make an appeal in which he appealed despites many calls on governor Ganduje to sign the death warrant.
