Zamfara State Govt To Recruit 200 Nurses, Midwives

     In an effort to improve health care delivery in Zamfara state, the state government has approved the recruitment of 200 nurses and midwives. 

    This was disclosed by the commissioner for health, Alhaji Yahya Muhammad Kanoma during the handover of the newly renovated Bakura orphans and less previlledged clinic executed by the state Zakkat and Endowment Board.   

    He expressed his satisfaction over the quality of renovation work by the board at N5million, adding that, the present administration will engage it in the renovation of the clinics in an effort to improve health care delivery system in the state.   

  The commissioner revealed that the state government has provided medicaments worth millions of naira to the general hospital Bakura for free treatment of women and children in the area.  

   In his remarks, the chairman of the board, professor Kabiru Umar Jabaka applauded the state Governor’s efforts in ensuring that the board was given more support in order to succeed.   

  He noted that, other orphanage clinics will be renovated in the 17 Emirate council in the state. 

Speaking earlier, the Emir of Bakura Alhaji Bello Muhammad Sani who was represented by the district head of Nasawa, Tudu Alhaji Lawali B. Shehu thanked the board for its concern to the emirate and assured to keep on collecting Zakkat and Endowment from Farmers and Fulanis in the emirate.
