The State Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Alhaji Aminu Yanlleman,in Dutse on Wednesday said the Jigawa Government is constructing a vegetable market in Kijawal, in Ringim Local Government Area of the state.
Yanlleman said that N10 million has already been expended on the construction of 60 shops, trailer parking ground, police station and mosque at the site.
He explained that as soon as the project was completed, all vegetable sellers would be relocated to the new site.
The commissioner said that government’s decision to build the new market was aimed at boosting trade and commerce in the state.
“If government is satisfied with the commercial activities in the new market, it will expand the place to accommodate more traders,” he said.
Yanlleman, who expressed satisfaction with the level of work on the project, urged the contractor to finish the work before the end of this year.
