NASS resumes plenary after two months recess

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila says non implementation of projects in the 2020 budget by Ministries, Departments and Agencies is a betrayal of public trust.

Femi Gbajabiamila stated this in a welcome address to mark the commencement of plenary sessions after a two-month annual recess.

He says the parliament will not tolerate any government body which fails to implement the budget to the letter.

The Speaker is also seeking all stakeholders’ support towards speedy passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill for a reformed oil and gas sector

On the suspension of protest by labour, Mr Gbajabiamila advised the Executive to adhere strictly to the agreement reached with organised labour which led to the suspension.
