The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has expressed confidence that arts and culture could be a viable means of revenue generating base for the country.
The governor expressed his optimism in a goodwill message at the opening ceremony of the 2020 National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST), holding in Jos, Plateau State.
The governor’s message was contained in a press statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Council for Arts and Culture, ( KSCAC). Comrade Gabriel Edicha and made available to Journalists in Lokoja.
Governor Yahaya Bello who was represented at the opening ceremony by the state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Comrade Salifu Idachaba pointed out that Nigeria is loaded with resources that place it’s economy competitively globally.
Speaking at the event in their separate remarks, Governor Simon Bako Lanlong of Plateau State and the chairman of the festival, Senator Rochas Okorocha also echoed the same position.
They drew the attention of the people to the rich cultural endowments in various states of the country, stressing that a well developed arts and culture could be a major source of revenue for the country.
