Victims of TV Garage market demolition decry hungry, go spiritual against El-Rufai

..Accuse Gov of driving people from kaduna

Victims of the Television Garage market demolished by  have gone spiritual, praying to God for intervention over the demolition of their place of business and means of livelihood, describing the as a clear sense of wickedness and technical way of driving people away from Kaduna State 

.

Speaking to our correspondent in tears during investigation tour of the demolished popular “Yam Market” on Wednesday, victim owners of popular food joints “Brightway restaurant, Barbing and Hair Salons, laundry and many other business premises, said the Governor Mall Nasir el-Rufai promised to rebuild the market immediately for them to returned to their business..

Most of the victims who claimed to have legally acquired the business properties from government officials for N500,000 and above, expressed disappointments over the delay in rebuilding the market demolished since September last year.

While some alleged that Zenith Bank has been contracted as developers’, they also expressed fears of not sure of getting their place back based on the rumoured condition attached to shops after rebuilding them in terms of the high cost.

Government, accordingly to them is planning to put each properties at millions for three instalment payment for the owners for something they had already bought with their money and have particulars for them.

They lamented that government is also planning to demolish the other side of the market for reconstruction, without rebuilding the first phase, even when its yet to rebuild several other market demolished across the state metropolis under the present harsh economic situation under COVID-19 pandemic, appealing for God’s mercy.

According to the victims, over 50,000 people that relied on the market for their means of livelihood are currently going through hell on what they could used to eat and feed their families, without going into crimes and criminals.

While appealing to the relevant federal government authorities to prevailed on the governor to reversed some of its harsh and inhuman Policies , the  victims, comprising widows and women bread winners said they have to continue to talk to God in prayers to touch and change the heart of the governor to hasting up and rebuild the markets for sake of God .

Recalled that as at last count, many have lost count of the number of demolished market across the state that are yet to be rebuild under governor el-Rufai, adding that the exercise, “even though may has good intentions, its being done with wicked mind and hear.

A Government official at the television garage Kaduna South revenue office who could not give his name said the land belonged to government and was demolished for proper development, saying Government will soon rebuild it.
