Edo 2021: sport commissioner rain praises on team Nasarawa, charge them to do more

Nasarawa state Commissioner for youth and sports development, Honourable Othman Bala Adam has shown total satisfaction in the performance of Team Nasarawa at the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020.

The commissioner who visited the state contingent on Monday, 12 April, 2020 was received by a sizeable number of Team Nasarawa members who were not involved in any sporting activities as at the time of visit.

He assured the contingent that their will be rewards for those who have won medals for the state, when the team returns home while urging those who didn’t win medal not to give up as they have made the people of Nasarawa state proud. 

It would be recalled that on the day of departure Honourable Othman Bala at the sports ministry complex in Lafia, assured the athletes that there will be a handsome reward for anyone who wins a medal for the state, noting that the governor achieved this feat on 2nd December, 2020 when he gave out 10 million naira to athletes who had won medals for the state in previous competitions.

Team Nasarawa have so far won a total of nineteen medals at the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival, having won four golds, three silver and twelve bronze medals.

The team will be searching for more medals in other events that are yet to be concluded as the festival get to it’s climax.
