The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Zubairu Dada has called for more collaboration between Nigeria and the People’s Republic of China especially in the area of security.
He made the call in Abuja when he received in his office the new Ambassador of China to Nigeria, Ambassador Cui Jianchun.
Ambassador Dada who described security as capital intensive, stressed the need for China to share its experiences and expertise with Nigeria as the nation now is facing serious security challenges.
The Minister described the new Ambassador as a man coming with lot of experiences which he could use for the benefit of both countries during his stay as Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria.
Ambassador Zubairu Dada also expressed optimism that in the Federal Government’s efforts to eradicate poverty among Nigerians, the nation could benefit immensely from the Chinese experiences.
While assuring the new Ambassador of President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration readiness to continue to provide enabling environment for investment, the Minister thanked China for its investment in the infrastructures across the country.
Earlier, the new Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Cui Jianchun said he was happy to be the fourteenth Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria.
He said the over fifty years of relationship between Nigeria and China had yielded so many good results.
Ambassador Cui said the strategic partnership between the two countries had resulted to enhanced economic cooperation.
He said the two countries could work towards becoming among the top twenty economies in the World.
Ambassador Cui Jianchun listed areas to include, Security, Tourism, Trade and Investment as well as ICT as areas of much interest to both countries.
