2023: Stakeholders, Former APC Exscos Endorse Matawalle for Senate

Stakeholders in Toto Local government Area of Nasrawa state and all former All Progressives Congress Excos, APC from the 55 electoral wards of Nasarawa west senatorial district have resolved to support the candidature of Barrister Labaran Magaji, Matawallen Toto for senator representing Nasarawa west senatorial district of Nasarawa state in the 2023 elections.

Abdullahi Adamu is the present senator representing the zone made of Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Toto and Nasarawa local government areas respectively.

The former executive members of the party led by Shuaib Obugye, former APC chairman Guto/ Aisa ward of Loko said that executive members from 55 wards of the zone will work for the emergenc of Matawalle as the candidate of the party for 2023.

Obugye said that the aspiration of Matawalle will be the only alternative for success of the party in the 2023 elections.

He explained that the group will mobilize the people of Nasarawa west to ensure that he succeeds.

Obugye said that the zone needed experienced and well grounded politicians like Matawalle to take the senatorial district to the next level.

Also speaking, elders from Toto led by Alhassan Obande a retired civil servant said that all retired political office holders in the zone are proud of the intentions of Matawalle and urged him to be resilient in his quest.

“We have gone round to ask people to come out from Toto to contest nobody has agreed but you took the challenge to accept the opinion of the elders, we will surely support you”

Earlier a group of youths and elders from the Afo tribe, the largest tribe in the zone had equally called on Matawalle to contest 2023.

Afo is the tribe of senator Abdullahi Adamu, former governor of Nasarawa state and the senator representing the zone.

The group who were led by Alh Abubakar Oyibo a frontline politician and elder statesman in Afo land visited Matawalle in his Abuja office and declared him as the messiah for the zone 2023.

The group promised to rally round Matawalle and support him for the 2023 elections by coming out en masse to ensure his success at the poll.

Oyibo said that the country and the state are in need of personalities like Matawalle to liberate the people and bring development to the zone.

“We are in your office to pray for your success and assure of your support and cooperation in your intention towards the 2023 senatorial elections”

Responding, Matawalle thanked them for the visit and assured them of credible representation if eventually elected.

He said that although he is still consulting, promised to make a difference in the red chambers as an experienced lawyer.
