Amgbare Ekaunkumo,Yenagoa

Ex-agitators from the nine states of the Niger Delta region have petitioned the National Security Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, Major General Babagana Mohammed Monguno (rtd.) over the allege plan to sabotage the smooth operations of the Amnesty Programme for personal benefits.

According to the ex-agitators, some staff of Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Col. Milland Dixon Dikio (rtd.) and staff of the Amnesty office over their allege involvement in sabotaging the smooth operations of the Amnesty Programme for personal benefits.

The ex-agitators allege that one  Technical Assistant Terry Ajobena and staff of the Amnesty office have been engaging in fraudulent activities in order to sabotage of the Amnesty Programme by using companies affiliated to them to convert project proposals submitted by hard working contractors as their personal proposal and secure payments using these companies for themselves while frustrating the efforts of the contractor whose idea had been stolen.

The ex-agitators, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Rivers state and signed by Dr. Ipalibo Soboye called on the National Security Adviser Major General Babagana Mohammed Monguno (rtd.) and Col. Milland Dixon Dikio (rtd.) the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) to call these individuals to order, for them to refrain from stealing the proprietary information of hardworking men and women from the region.

They warned the Amnesty staffs that the Amnesty Programme is not meant to enrich the staff of the office but to empower ex-agitators and people across the region, . “For over one year, Amnesty beneficiaries are not trained or empowered but Amnesty staff are always flying to Dubai and other countries for staff training which costs hundreds of millions of naira.”

“We strongly condemn the alleged secret deployment of Amnesty staff relatives for postgraduate studies abroad, and we are calling on the NSA to direct the Interim Administrator to immediately commence training and empowerment of Amnesty beneficiaries across the Niger Delta region.” We are also calling on the NSA to commence the preparation of the 2022 Amnesty Budget with an expanded training and empowerment package for beneficiaries before its too late.”
