A’Ibom Anniversary: VP Osinbajo to commission 22 floor Office for IOCs

The 22 floor smart building for International Oil Companies, IOCs built by Akwa Ibom government would be inaugurated by Vice President Yemi Osibanjo on Friday as part of activities marking the 34th anniversary of the creation of the state.

Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong told a press conference in Uyo yesterday that though this year’s anniversary would be a low-keyed, the VP would also commission the Multi Billion Naira Dakkada Luxury Estates.

Other events lined up to mark the state’s anniversary celebration according to the Ememobong would also include the inauguration of two bridges in Obot Akara Local Council and the swearing-in of new Paramount Rulers on Thursday.

The commissioner said that other projects slated for commissioning include the dualized 25Km Uyo-Ikot Ekpene highway and internal roads in Oron, Udung Uko and Uyo Local Councils.

Ememobong further stated that in furtherance of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s commitment towards quality healthcare delivery, the remodeled Ikot Ekpene General Hospital would be commissioned on Thursday while an Oil Palm Processing facility would be inaugurated same day in Essien Udim Local Council.

The commissioner who paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of the state maintained that the state has justified the need for Its creation going by the great strides it has recorded in infrastructure and overall contribution to the national economy.

He called on indegenes and residents to eschew bitterness and divisive behaviours and continue to support successive governments in order to build an economically and socially stable state.
