PDP wins reschedule Kaduna LG polls in kajuru

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the Chairmanship election for Kajuru Local Government Council Area of Kaduna State.

The PDP also won nine Councilorshp positions, while the ruling All Progressives Party (APC) won only one seat.

Declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Dr. Ibrahim DanMaraya of Kaduna State University (KASU), said Hon. Ibrahim Gajere of the PDP polled 14,432 to defeat his APC opponent and immediate past Chairman of the LG Hon. Cafra AB Caino who scored 9,095 votes.

However, the result for Chikun local government council area is still being awaited.

The Kaduna State lndependent National Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM), had initially scheduled the election for September 4, 2021, but was rescheduled for last Saturday, citing security reasons.

Mainwhile, out the four Local Government council polls rescheduled for last Saturday, elections still could not hold in two council also owing security to challenges.
