Gawuna closes 42nd Kano Trade Fair

Kano State Acting Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna on Saturday declared the 42nd Kano International Trade Fair closed with assurance that the government will continue to collaborate with the security agencies in order to make Kano safe and sustain the peace and stability enjoyed by the citizens towards making the State attractive for business opportunities.

According to him, the Ganduje administration is also committed towards executing laudable infrastructures that will develop the State and attracts investors.

“We have initiated policies and executed new infrastructures that would make Kano attractive for business to foreign and local investors Gawuna said”.

He therefore enjoined the business community to take the advantage of investing in agriculture so as to harness its potential and sustain the economy.

“In Kano we have given priority to agriculture following the call and support given to the sector by the Federal Government under President Muhammad Buhari as part of effort of boosting the economy of the country he said”.

Gawuna therefore commended KACCIMA for the way they organised the Trade Fair appreciably with assurance of continued support and cooperation.

Speaking, Alh.Dalhatu Abubakar, the President of KACCIMA said despite the effects of COVID-19, the 42nd Trade Fair has recorded turn out from both within and outside the country.

He emphasised that it is deliberate that KACCIMA chose “Consolidating the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic to opportunities for growth and development in Nigeria” as its theme for the International Trade Fair.

He went on to explain that the Special Days held during the trade fair for States and Corporate Organisations were meant to provide platform for the participants to show case their products,services and interact with stakeholders and the public.

On his part, the Chairman of the Trade Fair Committee, Alh.Uba Tanko Dan Zainab applauded the Kano State Government for its support and urged all the participants to join hands towards boosting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) businesses.

Others who spoke during the occasion include The representative of the Emir of Kano Sarkin Shanun Kano Alh.Shehu Muhammad Dan Kadai and Kano State Commissioner Of Commerce Barr. Ibrahim Muktar.
