Again bandits strike Maraban Rido in Kaduna, kill scores abduct many

Barely 16 hours after security alarm was raised, some armed bandits have stormed Maraban Rido, a suburb in Kaduna community, killing residents, an army personel and abducted scores.

A source on Monday morning, around 8:32am, alerted the public, on social media of sighting strange movement of motorbikes suspected to be bandits around Kaso, Kankomi axis of the Kaduna State.

Sixteen hours later, some armed bandits reportedly stormed Maraban Rido, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis, and killed some residents and abducted unspecified number of people.

According to the eyewitness source, a member of the Army Rapid Response Squad stationed in the area was also killed during the gun battle, while the bandits lost one of their own. An abductee, who’s a woman, was rescued in the process.

Recalled that on 17th Jan. 22, about 8:32, a good samaritan had posted on WhatsApp group stating that, “Pls if you are living around community’s that have boundary with outskirt of town e.g Maraban Rido, Rido, Juji, Gonin Gora e.t.c, you should be on high alert.

Information reaching us that there’s a strange movement of bikes suspected to be bandits around Kaso, Kankomi axis…pls inform your loved ones to be on alert”.

Contacted, kaduna State police command spokesman ASP Muhammed Jalige could not respond.

Maraban rido community residents have been victims of the terror attacks in kaduna consistently.
