A Kogi man fatally stabs his girlfriend who had physical disabilities

In a tragic incident, a man known as Siyaka Mohammed allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Aisha Aminu, to death following a misunderstanding. The victim, a 30-year-old woman with physical disabilities, lost her life at the hands of her boyfriend on Wednesday in Obehira, Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The alleged perpetrator, a 44-year-old man identified as Siyaka, reportedly stabbed his girlfriend multiple times in the early hours of Wednesday and fled the scene. According to an eyewitness, the suspect visited the victim’s shop shortly before 6 am, forcefully dragged her out of the inner chamber, and proceeded to stab her repeatedly until she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

Siyaka, who is said to be from Obehira in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, has since absconded from the town and is currently being sought by authorities who have declared him wanted.

Following the incident, the lifeless body of Aisha was taken to the mortuary at Okengwe General Hospital for further examination and preservation.

Reports suggest that the deceased and her boyfriend had an ongoing dispute, which had been previously reported to both the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and the community leader. However, despite these reports, the issue remained unresolved, ultimately leading to this tragic and fatal outcome.SP William Aya, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, has confirmed the incident. He stated that the command is actively pursuing the suspect and working to apprehend him in order to bring him to justice. The authorities are committed to ensuring that the perpetrator faces the legal consequences of his actions.
