A Philanthropist and His Uncommon Touch

By Okechukwu Keshi Ukegbu

Philanthropy isn’t about how much wealth one has; it’s about a deep commitment to serving humanity. As Eldon Tanner aptly stated, “Service to humanity is the rent we pay for living on earth.”

One man who exemplifies this philosophy is Hon. Peter Azubuike, the Managing Director of Petbridge Nigeria Limited. He has devoted his life to making a difference, ensuring that the less privileged have reasons to be thankful.

Hon. Azubuike’s actions reflect the spirit of Proverbs 19:17: “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.” Similarly, Proverbs 22:9 reminds us, “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” These biblical teachings form the foundation of his altruistic endeavors.

Recently, Hon. Azubuike marked the New Year with a series of generous gestures that crossed party lines. Notably, he awarded bursaries of ₦25,000 each to 10 students from each of the 11 wards in his local government area, Obingwa. This gesture brought renewed hope to many indigent students and reinforced his belief that “education is the key to success in life and must be encouraged.”

In his commitment to improving security and maintaining law and order, Hon. Azubuike donated a brand-new Sienna car and ₦1,000,000 to the Obingwa Community Police.

Other remarkable contributions include distributing over 1,000 bags of rice to combat hunger, donating 100 bundles of wrappers, and providing cash support to fund community initiatives. He also donated two motorcycles to further assist local transportation and mobility needs.

Hon. Azubuike’s philanthropic footprint continues to inspire hope and gratitude in his community, embodying the true essence of service to humanity.
