A Welder Hacks A Peace-Maker Carpenter To Death In Kogi

A 32 year- old welder, Murtala Dare has been arrested by Kogi state police command for allegedly hacking one Carpenter, Lukeman Kabiru, a father of two to death in Lokoja.

According to an eye witness account. At about 11:00 pm on Sunday, late Lukeman Jabiru was trying to settle crisis when the said Dare (culprit), reportedly wanted to fight a call girl for taking a customer behind a building for short service at a popular drinking spot in Lokoja, by Amusement park,

Dare who is now in police custody was said to have interrupted the sex rump and threatened to beat the call girl. It was, however, gathered that the intervention by late Lukeman to stop Dare from being violent, angered Dare who broke a bottle and allegedly stabbed Lukeman Kabiru on the neck.

Dare and Lukeman are neighbors, who own shops opposite the notorious drinking spot where call girls used the behind for short time.

The said Dare was alledged to be penchant for collecting fee for the use of the open space for short time before the crisis arose that ugly night.

Meanwhile some aggrieved youths had stormed the workshop of the welder and destroyed his property including big generator over the killing.

Confirming the incident, the Kogi State Police Public Relation officer, (PPRO), DSP William Aya said “the suspect was arrested in his hideouts at the back of Total Filling Station, Lokoja.”
