About 4,000 PDP Members Defects To APC In Sokoto

At least 3,477 PDP members in Dundaye, Gumburawa and Gidan Bubu Districts of Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto state have defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic party (PDP) to the All Progressives congress(APC ) in the state.

Receiving the defectors, APC Chairman in the state Hon.Isah Sadiq Achida described them as a pillars of democracy in the area.

The release by Bashar Abubakar MC further said Isah Sadiq Achida urged them to feel free and work for the success of the party in the forhcoming elections in the state.

Some of the defectors, Alhaji Labaran Gidan Ruwa, Hajiya Balkisu Ibrahim Dundaye and Malami Mai Sojoji revealed that they left their former party, PDP as it has failed them and cannot deliver on all the promises made.

Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, explained that, APC administration under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari has brought positive developmental projects aimed at impacting the lives of people of the country.

The Minister further sai that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had improved in the area of agricultural revolution and economic enhancement, mong many other sectors of development.

The Minister added that the APC-led federal government has for the past seven and half years, rolled out many projects which impacted positively to the lives of the less privileged citizens in the country.

He called for more support to the government in order to provide more dividens of democracy, assuring the defectors of the party”s commitment towards its victory during the polls.

He said that those achievements recorded by the government at the center were some of the reasons why other members of other political parties were trooping into the APC across the board.

APC leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko thanked the organizers of the event for their routine contributions towards the progress of the party.

APC gubernatorial candidate in the state, Hon. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, while speaking at the gathering said the PDP government in the state under Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has failed woefully to provide water, electricity, roads and healthcare to the people of the state.

He further solicited the support of the electorates
to vote for him as the Governor of Sokoto state in order to bring back the lost glory of the state.

Other speakers at the occasion were: Member representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmad Abdullahi Kalambaina, APC Chairman of Wamakko Local Government, Alh. Bello Jiji Bado and APC Coordinator in the area, Alhaji Sani Dalla-Dalla.

Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of the awards of Excellence for outstanding Service to Humanity which were presented to Senator Wamakko and Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto by the three Districts that organized the event.

The occasion had in attendance APC Deputy gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Idris Muhammad Gobir,an APC stalwart in the state who just decamped to the party recently, Alhaji Sahabi Bojo Bodinga, former Commissioners, retired Permanent Secretaries, business moguls, politicians and Islamic scholars, among many other APC leaders in the state.
