Adamawa Deputy Governor Commemorates Independence Day Service, Harps On Unity In Diversity Among Citizenry

The Adamawa State Government has wished Nigerians peace, Joy and Grace of God as the country is set to mark her 60th Independence Day  on 1st October, 2020.

The Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth conveyed the message at the prayer and Thanksgiving service for Nigeria at 60 organised by the Government house Chapel Yola.

While congratulating Nigerians on behalf of the State government, the the Deputy Governor expressed optimism that things will get better amidst the numerous challenges bedeviling the country. He said challenges are  part of the process of development, hence the need for citizens not to despair. 

The State Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Most Reverend Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza also advocated for prayers and encouraged the congregation not to be deterred by challenges. Bishop Mamza however, used the avenue to thank the  Ahmadu UmaruFintiri  led Government for f running an all inclusive Administration beneficial to all and sundry. 

Reverend Leonard Zadon earlier in a sermon took a scriptural reading from the Holy book of Joel 3:9, advising the congregation to prepare and remain strong in faith so as to overcome the trials that come their way.

Other speakers maintained that the country has come a long way, stressing that the anniversary is a time for sober reflection. They tasked  ethnic nationalities especially in Adamawa to  to unite and live peaceful in order to have a more strengthened nation. 

Other dignitaries at the event include the Chief of staff Professor Maxwell Gidado, Head of Service Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday, Commissioners, Religious leaders among other top Government functionaries.
