Adamawa; FG Approved the Conversion of FMC Yola to Modibbo Adama university teaching hospitals

After the long awaiting since the federal government mentioned the convention of the federal medical center (FMC) yola convertion to teaching hospitals in title of ” Modibbo Adama University teaching hospitals.

In a press released the issued by the Director Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Willie Bassey revealed that “President Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the upgrading of the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, Adamawa state.

“The approval is sequel to the demand by the people and the Adamawa state Government for the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre, Yola to Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, in order to enhance the training of medical students as well as boost health care delivery in the state”.

The upgrading of FMC Yola to a teaching hospital has long been overdue, considering the fact that almost all the clinical departments are running postgraduate (recidency) training, having gained accreditations by relevant regulatory bodies.

Some many actors have played relentless and varried parts in the making of MAUTH Yola. This, indeed takes another story.

The cycle facilitating success with amiable and humble achievers as chief executive officers is now completed;Prof Auwal Muhammad Abubakar from MD FMC Yola to CMD MAUTH Yola. Prof Abdullahi Liman Tukur from VC MAUTECH to VC MAU, Yola. Prof Adamu Bakari Girei the pioneer Provost Medial College MAU Yola.

These forward looking thought and strategic thinking minds as made formidable team, winning political will, will make theory and practice, training experience and professionalism in healthcare delivery service and excellence in clinical governance a dream come through.
