Part of the press statement reads:

Senator Aminu Iya Abbas’s achievements speak volumes about his commitment to grassroots development, education, infrastructure, economic empowerment, and good governance. Drawing from his extensive experience as a two-term member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly (2011-2019), where he served in key roles including Deputy Minority Leader, Minority Leader, Deputy Chief Whip, Chief Whip, and Chairman of committees on Public Service, Electoral Matters, Labour, and Productivity, he rose to become Speaker of the 7th Adamawa State House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023. In this capacity, he sponsored and co-sponsored numerous bills and oversaw developmental projects that directly improved lives across the state.

Since his election to the Senate in 2023, representing Adamawa Central under the PDP, Senator Abbas has continued to excel. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation, and a member of 15 other committees, he has demonstrated fiscal expertise, proactive leadership, and a focus on innovation-driven policies. His legislative contributions include sponsoring landmark bills such as:

This motion addressed floods ravaging areas like Fufore, Yola North, Yola South, Girei, Numan, Lamurde, and Demsa, saving lives and protecting communities.

Senator Abbas’s professional background as a chartered accountant, certified fraud examiner, and forensic expert—having worked at the EFCC, KPMG (where he helped establish the forensic unit), and other institutions—has equipped him with the integrity and expertise to manage resources effectively and combat corruption.

His accolades further affirm his excellence: He received the Exemplary Leadership Award from the North East Youths and Elders Peoples Forum in 2024 for contributions to democracy, good governance, and service to humanity, based on his impactful representation. He was also honored by the Adamawa Community Association in 2023 for delivering unmatched dividends of democracy. As a grassroots politician, he remains accessible, traversing challenging terrains to connect with constituents, and lives harmoniously with state leaders, embodying loyalty, tolerance, and hard work.

Senator Abbas is the best candidate for the PDP governorship ticket because his proven ability to unite people, deliver results, and win hearts positions him to secure a landslide victory in 2027. His vision aligns with Adamawa’s needs for sustainable development, job creation, education, and infrastructure. Unlike others, he leads with compassion, humility, and integrity, inspiring respect across all divides. We believe he will build on these successes to transform Adamawa into a model state.

We call on the people of Adamawa—regardless of political affiliation—to support Senator Aminu Iya Abbas in his bid for governor. To the PDP leadership: Grant him the 2027 governorship ticket without hesitation. His track record guarantees not just a win, but a legacy of progress for generations.
