The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) will hold its elective congress on June 14 in Kebbi State this year, the federation in its communiqué issued after its virtual congress made available to newsmen, stated that the Electoral and Appeal committees were constituted to handle the elections.
It stated that the elections into the board of the federation will be held in line with its 2017 constitution which was approved by the congress in 2019.
The virtual meeting, which had 27 states and the athletes’ representatives participating, noted that the committee was given one week to come out with the guidelines for the elections.
The electoral committee has Prince Jambright B, Samamu as chairman, Mohammed Surajo Aliyu as vice chairman, Alozie Emmanuel, Barrister C.J.Nwogu as members and the Director General of the Federation, S.Y. Pepple as secretary.
The Appeal Committee has Barrister Omoyemi Gold Olumidi as chairman, Dr. Eche Ezibe, and Goodluck Akpodeh as members.
The communiqué was drafted by Mr. Fedilis Gadzama, Mr. S.Y Pepple and Patrick Estate with the president of the federation. Engineer Ibrahim Gusau leading the members in the congress.
