Prices of goods such as provisions, grains and other staple food items are rising steadily in markets and shops across board, particularly in Kaduna, the defunct capital of old northern region.

“It’s was rising before, during and even now after the hunger protests”, according to market expert, Mallam Adamu of Kaduna central market.

Our correspondent reports that virtually, the cost of most items such as breads, tea provisions, grains, food items or produce have added prices immediately after the protesters of bad governance ended their protests over the weekend.

“It is as if nothing was achieved by the protesters other than provoke anger, and insensitivity to the plight of the common Nigerians, even the price of the commonest food such as garri and sweet potatos have added price.

“They’ve not just added, they’re still adding, said Mrs. Angela Ibrahim and Austin Madugu all big time traders in Kaduna market, who chatted with our reporter.

“In fact, Gari, rice, Akpu, Beans, yams and others food items have added and are still adding “,they lamented.
