as Youths Barricaded Makurdi-Lafia High way with Dead Bodies

By Isaac Kertyo, Makurdi

Youths in Benue State have Barricaded the Makurdi-Lafia high way to protest the killing of two Farmers at Tse Tule, Yerwata in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State by Suspected Militia Herders.

Yerwata is a border town between Benue and Nassarawa States.

The victims who were twins, Terfa and Mathew Igbian were allegedly massacred while on their way to the farm at 9.30 in the morning.

In a related development, Mr Akume Ityo was also murdered by alleged stray bullets from Men of Operation Whirl Stroke while heading to the scene of the incident to maintain law and order.

Day Break learned that the youths of the area used the dead bodies and blocked the Makurdi-Lafia high way to protest the aforementioned Killings.

It was gathered that men of the Operation Whirl Stroke from Udey on getting information about the protest, swiftly moved to the area to disperse the rampaging youths.

Efforts to contact the Spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Sewuese Anene for comments proved abortive as she could not be reached.
