He also disclosed of a surgery on a sixteen year old male who had a third testes saying that the team of doctors sent the sample to histology to determine the cause of the problem as it is a rare medical condition.
“A man who had scrotal hernia for 32 years starting from December 1989 when he was first diagnosed was saved. He has been married three times with non of the marriages lasting over four months because of the giant hernia he was walking about with, he couldn’t consummate his marriage.
” To the glory of God and all thanks to pastor Umo Eno who supported this team to be able to perform the surgeries and the man is now free.” He explained.
He said the group was targeting at least 10 medical missions across the 10 federal constituencies in the state adding that the next outreach would be held in Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal Constituency even as he urged residents of the state to take advantage of the free medical mission.
Emmanuel disclosed that during the first medical mission in Etinan, 2506 patients benefited from free medical/surgical treatments, adding that out of the number, surgeries were performed on 301 patients with health challenges ranging from myomectomies, herniorrhaphies, hydrocelectomies,Orchidectomy, vaginoplasty to vaginal hysterectomies (VagHys), among others.
He expressed gratitude to Eno, for reposing confidence in the team and for doing everything possible to ensure the success of the outreach adding that over N97m outside logistics has already been spent on the outreach.
He noted that the beneficiaries of the outreach were Akwa Ibom people irrespective of party lines stressing, “the people who came for treatment did not know APC, PDP, YPP but all they know is that they were sick and needed help and someone was able to provide help for them
“When we talk about a free medical mission, it is only free because someone else besides the beneficiary has paid for the services. This is why we must thank the PDP Governorship candidate Pst Umo Eno, his friends who supported the mission and the Team who conducted the mission.”
Earlier in his remarks during the flag-off ceremony, Eno assured Akwa Ibom people of his passion and commitment towards delivering quality healthcare services to all who reside in the state and reiterated his avowed commitment to the revamping of Primary Health Care services in the State as part of his rural development agenda.
