AMCE and SAP Partner to Revolutionize West African Healthcare

By  Milcah   Tanimu

The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) has partnered with SAP and Converge Solutions to implement a state-of-the-art hospital information system, aiming to transform healthcare in West Africa.

This strategic collaboration, announced on Friday, leverages SAP’s S/4HANA platform and Converge’s ISH Plus suite. The integrated system enhances patient care, improves administration, and streamlines workforce management.

Brian Deaver, CEO of AMCE, stated, “This partnership is a major milestone in providing world-class healthcare services across Nigeria, West Africa, and beyond. By embracing technology, we aim to enhance patient experiences, improve decision-making, and create local jobs.”

Johann Joubert, CEO of Converge Solutions, emphasized its potential to tackle Africa’s healthcare challenges, particularly skill shortages. He noted that modern tools will improve outcomes for both patients and practitioners.

SAP’s Regional Sales Director, Titilayo Adewumi, added, “Innovation in healthcare goes beyond technology—it’s about meaningful community impact. This collaboration will leave a lasting legacy.”

AMCE, established by the African Export-Import Bank, focuses on treating non-communicable diseases like cancer and heart conditions, integrating research and education into its operations.

This partnership showcases the role of advanced digital solutions in addressing critical healthcare needs in the region.
