The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended four individuals in Ihiala Local Government Area on charges including attempted kidnapping and cyberstalking. Superintendent of Police Tochukwu Ikenga announced that the arrests followed a detailed investigation by a joint security task force. The suspects—Chimezie Ezebuo, Chinaza Ndimani, Chinecherem Okafor, and Nzube Azubuike, all from Okohia, Ihiala—were taken into custody on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Authorities recovered mobile phones and SIM cards allegedly used by the suspects to issue threats, causing panic in the community. All four have reportedly confessed and are undergoing further interrogation.
SP Ikenga emphasized the command’s commitment to public safety and acknowledged the community’s role in identifying criminal elements. He stated that such criminal activities undermine state security and that the police will continue efforts to hold offenders accountable.
