Angry Mob Sets Dangote Trailers Ablaze Over Killing Of A Baby

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

No fewer than three Dangote Trailers were set ablaze following the death of a baby when the mother and Okada rider were knocked down in Lokoja last night.

According to eyewitness account, at about 10:30pm yesterday, a Dangote trailer knocked down an Okada Rider who was conveying a mother and her baby before the accident.

Angered by the immediate death of a baby who was with his mother, a mob anger ensured, which led to the burning of the Dangote trailer.

However, the report reaching our correspondent at the time of filing-in this report has it that the mother and the Okada Rider are presently receiving treatment and in stable condition.

But the matter took another dimension as the mob transferred their anger on all Dangote Trailers passing through Ganaja.

The Commissioner of Police Edeh Ayuba who confirmed the accident, said the command has brought the situation under control adding that if not for the timely intervention of the Police, more havoc would have been done to Dangote Trailers and other motorists along that route.

The Incident has created a heavy gridlock on the Ganaja road, a road leading to the Eastern flank of Nigeria coupled with the increase of traffic as many people are on their way home for the Christmas.
