APC Chairman: Gov Fubara is Wike’s Political Investment

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Tony Okocha, the Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that Governor Siminalaya Fubara owes his political rise to Nyesom Wike. Okocha argued that Wike’s demands from Fubara are justified, as the former governor invested in Fubara’s political career.

In an interview with News Central on Wednesday, Okocha highlighted that Fubara was initially a civil servant with no political pedigree. He pointed out that Wike funded Fubara’s campaigns during the 2023 general election, making him the PDP’s candidate. Okocha referred to this as Wike’s political investment in Fubara, asserting that Fubara owes Wike respect and loyalty in return.

Okocha also commented on the APC’s legal challenge to Fubara’s election, clarifying that the opposition’s case was based on his improper resignation from the civil service, not on election results.

Additionally, Okocha criticized Fubara for allegedly disobeying laws and court rulings, suggesting that his disregard for judicial decisions was another point of contention.

Okocha’s comments highlight the complex political dynamics between Fubara and Wike, with the APC Chairman asserting that Wike’s influence played a pivotal role in Fubara’s rise to power.
