APC Sokoto Praises Governor Ahmed Aliyu, Criticizes Immediate Past PDP Administration

The Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for his leadership and achievements, positioning the state on a path of progress and development.

Speaking at a press conference held at the APC State Secretariat, party chairman Isah Sadiq Achida lauded the governor’s competence and resilience in service delivery, highlighting key successes of the administration.

Governor Aliyu’s Achievements

Achida, citing a statement from Bashar Abubakar, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Wamakko, emphasized the rapid transformation of Sokoto State in infrastructure and human welfare within a short period.

On security, he stated that the current administration has significantly reduced insecurity, making the state safer for residents.

He also praised the governor’s strides in:
Education – Upgrading schools and raising educational standards.
Healthcare – Enhancing healthcare facilities across the state.
Agriculture – Providing farmers with fertilizers, seeds, and essential tools.
Transportation – Addressing both urban and rural transport challenges.
Empowerment – Implementing the Skills Acquisition Programme to equip men and women with tools and financial support for self-reliance.

Minimum Wage Implementation

The APC chairman also gave Governor Aliyu a pass mark for fulfilling his pledge to pay the new national minimum wage of ₦70,000, stating that this has had a positive impact on civil servants in the state.

Ramadan Feeding Programme Expansion

As the Holy Month of Ramadan approaches, Achida announced that the Annual Ramadan Feeding Programme would be expanded to accommodate more people, ensuring that more residents benefit from food support during the fasting period.

With these achievements, the APC Sokoto leadership reaffirmed its confidence in Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration, positioning it as a benchmark for good governance in the state.
