Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Gov. Ishaku promises more funds for security.

 Taraba state Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to support security services with more funds to boost logistics for maintenance of peace in the state.

Ishaku made the vow at the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Jalingo.

The governor, who was represented by Deputy Governor Haruna Manu said that the safety of citizens was a top priority of the administration.

He called on residents from both southern and central parts of the state to cooperate with troops of the’Ayem Akpatuma 11 who were in the state to restore peace in the state.

He underscored the role of the armed forces in ensuring that the country remained together.

Ishaku also eulogised the sacrifice made by the armed forces for Nigerians to enable Nigerians to sleep with their two eyes closed’.

The Governor also launched the emblem of the armed forces with the sum of N5 million.

He said that he had already redeem the N10 million pledge he made in 2019.

Earlier, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, Chairman, Taraba chapter of the Nigerian Legion thanked the governor for awarding one slot each to Christian and Muslim in the 2019 pilgrimage.

Mohammed also commended the governor for fulfilling his pledge of N10 million donation to the legion.

He congratulated Gov. Ishaku for his recent victory at the Supreme Court.

He urged the state government to assist the widows of the fallen heroes.
