Army Court Martial Dismisses Soldier Over Multiple Offences In Maiduguri.

Operation Lafiya Dole under the auspices of 7 Div. of the Nigerian Army Court Martial Holden at Maimalari  cantonment, Officers mess, MAIDUGURI, has dismissed and jailed one corporal ALIYU Yakubu of the 202 tank battalion for  five years for alleged  multiple offences.
A serving corporal of the 202 tank battalion in the on-going counter INSURGENCY  operations has also been sentenced for five years in prison for rape  and  assault of a 15 year old Inna Modu on July 1,2018 in  an uncompleted building behind Bama prison.
Passing judgment on Wednesday at the Maimalari Cantonment,
Maiduguri, President of the General Court Martial, Brig-Gen. Ekubi Arikpo,
said the five-year jail term and dismissal are for count one and two
charges against Yakubu and subject to ratification by military high command.

“The sentencing and dismissal of Corporal Yukubu from service, are
according to Armed Forces Act (AFA), 2004, section 78 and section 10,
subsection 2A”,accordingly.
He said that five witnesses testified before
the court with 10 exhibits arguing that the offence of rape and assault, however; contradicted
military professional operations of fighting Boko Haram insurgency in
Borno state as the exhibits presented before the court, included a medical report of raping Inna in an uncompleted building in Bama town, BORNO state.
