Army reacts to bandits attack at NDA

The Nigeria Army has confirmed today’s early morning raid of the Nigeria Defence Acedemy facility at Afaka, Kaduna State which led to the death of one officers and kidnapped of unspecified number of others., stating that its personnel were on the heels of the bandit’s.

Recall that in the early hours of today
bandits have invaded the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna, killing a naval officer.

The bandits were also said to have kidnapped two majors among others

The bandits, who reportedly attacked the barracks around 1am on Tuesday morning.

One of the officers who was injured in the attack is said to be currently receiving treated at a hospital within the barracks.

The Academy Public Relations Officer
Confirmed the breach of the facility by people he described as “unknown gunmen who gained access into the residential area within the Academy in Afaka” He noted that during the unfortunate incident, two personnel were killed while one was abducted.

On aaction being taken he said the Academy in collaboration with the 1Division Nigerian Army and Air Training Command as well as other security agencies in Kaduna state has since commenced pursuit of the unknown gunmen within the general area with a view to tracking them and rescue the abducted personnel.

“The NDA community and Cadets are safe in the Academy. We assure the general public that this unknown gunmen would soon be apprehended and the abducted personnel rescued” he said.
