Bagwai Local Government Council has distributed ₦50,000 each to 100 women as financial support aimed at boosting their economic activities and fostering self-reliance. The initiative is part of a broader effort to empower women and enhance their livelihoods through entrepreneurship.

The distribution ceremony, held at the local government secretariat, was overseen by the council chairman, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Gadanya. Speaking at the event, Gadanya expressed his appreciation for the Kano State Government, led by Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for prioritizing women’s empowerment.

“This initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to uplifting women and fostering sustainable development across our communities,” said the chairman.

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Chairman for Bagwai Local Government, Alhaji Mas’ud Badau, urged the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the financial support to expand their businesses and attain financial independence.

Expressing her gratitude, one of the beneficiaries, Malama Binta Hashim, thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Chairman Gadanya for the gesture. She highlighted the impact of such support on promoting economic activities and fostering peace, especially in rural areas.

The empowerment program underscores the local government’s dedication to addressing economic challenges and enhancing the living standards of its residents.
