Must read

In an alarming incident, bandits abducted Aondo Ver, a director in the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), from his residence in Pambara, Bwari Area Council of Abuja. The attack occurred at approximately 12:30 am on Thursday, a mere 200 meters away from a military base in the area.

During the assault, the bandits fired indiscriminately, creating panic in the vicinity before fleeing through the bushes with their captive. Notably, the military base, referred to as ‘camp,’ is situated in close proximity to the scene of the abduction.

Residents, including both civilians and serving or retired military personnel, confirmed the attack. The kidnapped director, Mr. Aondo Ver, works with the FHA in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Expressing shock over the incident, residents emphasized the audacity of the bandits to target an area near a military base where military personnel, both active and retired, reside.

The surge in insecurity within the FCT has raised concerns among residents and authorities alike. Efforts to reach the Nigerian Army spokesperson, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, were unsuccessful, and the FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, was unavailable for comments at the time of reporting.
