Bandits Kidnap Lawyer In Sokoto

The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) has confirmed the kidnapping of one of their member, Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa around 1am, Sunday, in Sokoto State.

The State Chairman of the Association, Barrister Nuhu Muhammad who confirmed the incident prayed for her safety and quick release from the bandits.

Our Correspondent gathered that the bandits kidnapped Barrister Rukayyat Mustafa around 1am in her residence at Bado area of Wamakko local government area.

Barrister Fadinand Okotete, a Notary Public, and Principal partner of the law firm where Mrs Mustafa works said that she was kidnapped by bandits at about 1 am.

Okotete further said the terrorists stormed her residence and kidnapped Rukayyat along with a young man.

He explained that after they treked to a vehicle that was parked far away from her residence, the bandits then released the young man and told him to go back or loose his life..

Okotete revealed that the man rushed back for fear of being shot by the bandits.

The matter had been reported to the Police for possible rescue of the kidnap victim.

Rukayyat’s younger brother, Khalid Mustafa corroborated Barrister Okotete’s account, adding that the traumatised young man was not able to provide full details of the incident.
