Bandits Release 60, kidnap another 50 in Kaduna community

It was a essemblance of wailing and tear by parents, sympathizers and other church members, when Bandits released over 60 emaciated looking church members kidnapped in Kaduna, after many weeks in captivity.

Coincidentally, the victims were released a day after over 50 other persons were reportedly abducted in Ungwan Gimbiya community in Kaduna State by Bandits, after killing two of them.

Speaking while receiving the victims from military custody, on Friday, the state Commissioner of lnternal Security and Home Affairs Mr Samuel Aruwan said the victims comprised of those abducted from Emmanuel Baptist Church Jaji, and those from Baptist church in Kakau, including some of those kidnapped on Abuja -Kaduna highway.

He said military operatives on the fateful day put a call to the state government and said it’s in possession of the kidnapped victims, and was ready to handover them to the state government.

The Commissioner further explained that the state government decided to handover the victims to the Baptist church leadership and their parents to reunite with their families.

He also averred that government is ready to carry out post kidnapping evaluation and rehabilitation of the affected victims when and where necessary to relieved them of the phycological and trurmatized experience they went through in the hands of the Bandits.

Many of the release victims were however reunited with their parents and guardians.

Although the issue of money was not discussed, it was alleged that the victims were not set free without ransom.
